970 Performance Parts H.O. Engine Program - Ruckus/Metro
Do you want to have a higher top speed, better cruising speed, more pulling power for gear and hills? Then you need a 970 HO Engine. Following is a complete description of work performed and parts replaced in our engines.
All of our engines are disassembled down to their component parts, cleaned, inspected, machine, cleaned again, and reassembled using only OEM Honda parts and seals. Our HO Engines use a Weisco piston developed by a fellow enthusiast and machined by Wiseco on a limited production run. Right now our engines using the Chanito Big Bore kit are the only PROVEN method to make your Ruckus go faster and harder then any other modification can provide while keeping the factory Honda engine. All engine blocks are machined locally here in Fort Collins, Colorado to exacting standards. Pistons are matched with blocks during production to give you the best performance. All mating surfaces are machined for a trouble free fit. The cylinder head is completely rebuilt with new seals, machining of valve seats, and a cleaning and centering of the exhaust port. Any bearings, pumps, seals, or other worn parts are replaced. Engines will always receive new seals, and valve stem seals. Valves are shimmed to recommended specifications. Please note that we are currently only building customer engines, so you will need to ship us your engine for the work to be done. Engines with over 1,500 miles will also get a new crank and oil pump (this is NOT an exception) for an additional $150.
The 970 Engine and Head Program is available separately or as a complete Race Engine. We now offer the 970 HO head as a kit, the Big Bore bottom end as a kit, or we can build you a complete Race Engine. Prices are as follows:
970 is offering our HO Head as a bolt on option for anyone wanting to increase the performance of either a big bore or standard bore engine. This head has been bench flowed, ported and polished to flow 25-30% better than stock. Comes complete with an HO Cam matched to flow 100% for our HO head. We will need a complete working and assembled head with rockers, cam, valves, springs, etc. for the work to be done. Upgraded 2008+ valves are available upon request for additional charge. Please note that it is very common for engines with some miles, or those ridden in dusty conditions to need new valves.
